Well now this was a nice little surprise packet. A Halliday 5 star rating producer has provided us with a gem!
WA Cabernet Merlot is our bread and butter red wine in Margaret River. This wine,
from a difficult cool vintage, is the little brother of the Arlewood Cabernet
Sauvignon, but made pretty much in the same style – dense, savoury and long with persistent fine tannins. That said, we did not bottle a 2006 Arlewood
Cabernet Sauvignon; rather all that material was declassified into this wine, making it fight way above its division. This is great value, stylish wine.
