The Gold Series - A passionately handcrafted wine made to demonstrate the Barossa regions capacity to produce wines with superb structure, lengthy dimensions, complexity and superb balance!

OK! So , here we have the perfect food wine and everyday spoil your self cellar friend! The colour is frighteningly deep bulls blood and seems ominous from the get go! Luckily it is the hallmark of a great low yielding vintage that has produced a sensational wine in every department. Aromatical it drives great fruit opulence and delivers complex layers of blackcurrant and spice with excellent levels of very complimentary oak. I really like this blend as it provides the solid overall structure of a great wine that drinks well from day one if made with love and attention but just rolls into a great wine if given time. Good levels of acidity and tannin make this a little ripper. So, go ahead and enjoy your self with a carton or two for the cellar and bask in the glory of a really good deal!

"Mellow and mature, with intense, dark fruits, from dried fig to prune, mulberry and blueberry, this is a classic Australian version of the old Bordeaux blend of the 1800s, but with sweet Shiraz, rather than leafy Cabernet, dominant. It has the glowering spice of seasoned, toasted French oak adding piquancy to its welling syrup of berries, and yet still shows some pretty confectionary topnotes of musk and marshmallow sugar. The flavours are more slender and tight than this generous bouquet indicates, giving a wine of elegance and precision which will cellar well for three to six years. Its acidity is strapping, and adult; its tannins velvety, fine, and drying." - Philip White.
