Appearance » Intense plum with hints of garnet.
Nose » A complex array of ripe fruit combined with dusty, spicy oak highlights. Hints of cherries and plums with anise & cedar, also faint charred oak and chocolate and coffee bean characters.
Palate » The palate has rich ripe plums and hints of minty varietal Cabernet with light dusty cedar & char with lingering subtle tannins which complement the oak fruit balance. A balanced complimentary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz with a well rounded palate with good weight, structure and soft lingering tannins.

STAFF TASTING: One taster rated this their best out of the day's selection and though alone awarding it gold that day, it was not a derided decision. The '04 Cab Shiraz has strong oak and tobacco on the nose, complimented with raspberry and even a little trademark Coonawarra mint. The palate brings those berries to the fore, letting them linger through a long, dry finish. Tasters: TE, MM, BK.
