A beautiful pale salmon in colour, this rose offers aromas of sweet red fruit, whilst the palate remains dry and savoury with gentle flavours of morello cherry. Soft acidity guides the finish to a crisp crescendo.
2016 Vintage: 89 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Includes 1% nebbiolo. Pale salmon-tinged pink; intensely fruity and fragrant from the first whiff to the last taste. Will soar if served chilled (not cold)."
From the Winery
In 1994, the De Bortoli family planted the Bella Riva vineyard on the King River at the base of the Victorian snowfields. The vineyard is planted on sandstone and shale deposits washed down by the river, blocks require timely crop thinning to ensure good flavour and colour development.
Near perfect growing conditions for Sangiovese; warm, timely rainfall, late March harvest.
