Pinot Noir Rose from the Yarra Valley that highlights how well it can be made! This is a delicate, gentle rose thats pale salmon in colour. Brioche and strawberry aromas are present initially, before subtler raspberry and cherry notes. The palate is textural with flavours of red fruits, a touch of brioche and soft acidity. Get one in the fridge sharpish!
Awards and Accolades
95 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "(Very) pale salmon colour. Strawberried aromas blaze from the glass. Apple, rosewater and strawberry flavours drive through the palate in fine, dry style. This spends time in old oak, albeit briefly, though there are certainly no signs of oak flavour. It wouldn't be out of order to label this as 'benchmark'."
From the Winery
Fruit is harvested and pressed immediately. Juice is settled overnight and racked to small casks and allowed to ferment with indigenous yeast. The casks get a little stirring of lees at the end of fermentation and undergo malolactic fermentation to give creaminess and complexity.
Mild growing season, timely Spring rain, slow ripening, lovely colour and tannin development.
Made for immediate enjoyment over the next 18 months.
