Step Rd Sangiovese 2006 |

I have to admit some reluctance to range this wine until i was on my third glass with some home made pizza the other night. The wine itself is very well made seamlessly worked with great fruit and oak but it really started to gather pace in ticking al the right boxes following the first glass. Bright cherry red to the eye and with a lifted aroma to match, the 2006 Sangiovese serves up a medium bodied contrast between dark cherry and savoury flavours. Very fine-grained tannins cleanse the palate which finishes with excellent balance and acidity. All in al it was a terrific drink and one that kept going as a sessionable food or everyday drinking wine that expressed very well what quality Sangiovese should be! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! Cheers
