Great value Barossa Valley Shiraz from a small and understated producer. Plum and clove spice on the nose. The palate is full and velvety with dark black fruits and big round tannins.
Awards and Accolades
92 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Deep crimson-purple; a decidedly complex wine with black fruits, a twig of dried herbs and a long, medium to full-bodied palate. The tannins are plentiful, but under control."
2014 Vintage: Chris Shanahan, Canberra Times “Charles and Jennie Cimicky’s winery and vineyards are at Lyndoch, in the slightly cooler south of the warm Barossa Valley. Their reds, starting with the inexpensive Trumps shiraz, deliver typical Barossa generosity and softness without going over the top on oak, tannin or alcohol. As Trumps 2014 demonstrates, for Cimicky it’s all about capturing ripe, mouthfilling fruit flavours and the Barossa’s tender tannins. The ripe, supple fruit and softness give great drinking pleasure right now.”
From the Winery
Established by the Cimicky family in 1972, this quality boutique winery has been under the direction of Charles and Jennie Cimicky since 1984. Their philosophy is to remain a small family-owned company producing strictly limited red wines that are complex and individual in style and which are, using the most innovative wine-making technology available, carefully controlled from vineyard to bottle. The overwhelming success of Cimicky Wines over the years has established “cult status” for this somewhat shy, retiring and most definitely elusive wine-maker.
