De Bortoli's Down the Lane Shiraz Tempranillo blend celebrates the fusion of two favourite Spanish and Australian varietals. Spices and red fruit sit comfortably alongside the savoury notes from the Tempranillo. Enjoy with a paella or tapas dishes.
From the Winery
A cool spring with plenty of rain followed by a mild summer made for a late start to vintage under sunny skies and cool nights. These conditions made for full flavour ripeness with great natural acidity.
The Shiraz was harvested mid April whilst the Tempranillo fruit was picked earlier in March when each variety had reached maturity and were full of flavour. They were then fermented separately on skins for 7-10 days to allow the full extraction of flavour, colour and tannin.
