Awards and Accolades
2015 Vintage: 96 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Hand-picked, whole berries and whole bunches small batch open-fermented, larger concrete fermenters at the original winery also included for extended maceration on skins for 2 weeks, matured for 19 months in French oak (27% new). Both bouquet and medium-bodied palate offer a tapestry of black fruits, spices and black pepper, tannins woven through the succulent, juicy black fruits, French oak there or thereabouts, and fine lingering tannins."
2015 Vintage: Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front "It’s a sweeter fruit profile than we generally expect to see under this label, or from this estate, though it’s immaculately balanced and presented and has just-enough enough pepper-spice to keep lovers of this label happy. Spice notes though are certainly in shorter supply here than usual. Creamy mouthfeel, floral aspects, sweet raspberry and black cherry, perhaps just into plum. It’s a seductive wine, no doubt. Mount Langi Ghiran is certainly putting out excellent reds right now."
2014 Vintage: 95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Small batches variously open-fermented, plunged, a portion of whole bunches, some pigeage, matured in French oak (20% new) for 15 months. An immaculately balanced and structured wine, effortless in its medium-bodied guise, delivering juicy red fruits, cedar and spice on a bed of feathery tannins. J.S. Bach harpsichord."
