A rich full bodied Shiraz, bursting with ripe, rich fruit flavours.
The grapes for this wine are entirely biodynamically grown, with natural preparations and composts utilised to achieve optimum mineral balance in soil. The results are impressive, this is a classic McLaren Shiraz sweet fruit aromas and flavours backed up by generous fruit depth and lovely dark chocolate notes. Earthy hints and well-rounded tannins provide a solid backbone to the wine. It's great for drinking right away, but will hold for up to 10 years.
Awards and Accolades
2015 Vintage: 92 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, The Wine Companion "Separate parcels from each of the Paxton shiraz vineyards, aged for 12 months in new and used French and American barriques. This wine takes you on a comfortable ride. The bouquet offers sweet-fruit aromas with a measure of chocolate and a gently warming earthiness. The palate is soft but structured, the varietal and regional flavours all in sync. Get on board."
90 Points, Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front "This release is far more straight-forward. It’s a soft, sweet-fruited, chug-a-lug style but with more weight and concentration than those words usually imply. Blackberry jam, licorice, a touch of burnt sugar and fragrant dried herbs. Mellifluous. Has a puppy-dog readiness to be enjoyed now."
