The wine exhibits traditional spicy, peppery and rich plum flavours enhanced through maturation in new French oak hogsheads for 22 months. The tannins are awesome and tenacious leaving the mouth watering for the next sip. The only problem is; can you be bothered cooking to maximise its journey? Open a bottle and decide for yourself as I did and was truly rapt!
Sourced from Ultra Premium single block 40-Year-Old vines. Carefully cellared, this wine under screw cap is delightful, strongly recommended and wonderfully turned out now that it has had perfect cellaring period to grow and mature.
The last vintage we offered - 2003 sold out in a day. So, I have tasted again tonight and simply recommend you go hard at this wine and fill the cellar - it's a stunner. I wish I could say we had loads of this wine to offer - but, as you can imagine, we simply do not!
