This delicious Burgundian blanc de blanc will have you coming up with myriad excuses to pop the cork!
Light golden tinted with a fine, consistent bead and a light mousse. The first thing you pick up is the crisp citrus aroma, followed by subtle yeasty/fresh bread notes and nutty hints. The palate is textural and well weighted, sitting nicely in the mouth. Citrus and mineral notes are ever-present, and the finish is mid-length, leaving a light, pleasant aftertaste.
Awards and Accolades
91 Points - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "A delightful blanc de blancs, this is beautifully fragrant on the nose showing lemon zest, white peach and floral with elegant yeast complexity. The palate is focused and finely textured with flowing mouthfeel, finishing long and delicately crisp. A wonderful alternative to Champagne offering excellent value."
16.5 / 20 - Raymond Chan "Bright pale straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, the bead persistent and moderately fine. This has a light, fresh bouquet with delicate aromas of white and yellow stonefruits alongside citrus and floral elements, unfolding subtle nuances of yeast, nuts and minerals. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, a rounded core of yellow stonefruits interwoven with nuances of yeast and smoke is the feature on palate. The mousse is soft and the mouthfeel is guided by gentle phenolic textures and discreet acidity that lends balance and dryness. The wine carries through to a slightly textured, dry finish with yeast and nutty notes. This is a soft, gentle Methode Traditionnelle with delicate fruit and nutty, yeasty notes. Serve as an any-occasion sparkling over the next 18 months to 2 years. Based on Chardonnay, fermented by the traditional method."
From the Producer
To respect the Traditional Method, the grapes that are best suited to this method of vinification are selected to obtain very expressive wines. Only white grapes with white juice are used, hence “Blanc de Blancs”.
The Traditional Method requires specific qualities during production. The wine ages naturally in the bottle for at least 9 months, which allows a natural secondary fermentation. Refrigerated cellars store the wine and ensure vinification is carried out correctly.
