Special - A very special Tassie, Chardonnay and an absolute ripping wine that blew away the panels competition last night at an out door tasting surrounded by bugs. birds and brilliant spring sunset. Up against some fearless heavy weights in the Chardonnay areas, this wine lifted from the pack like an Angel and soared to the dizzying heights to be reclassed as a superb 96 Point wine
Made by Frogmore Creek wines, 42 degrees south relates to the central latitude of Tasmania. This is an complex chardonnay, which means pure fruit expression is the go here. Aromas of white stone fruits, yellow citrus, dairy and nuts float out of the glass. Meanwhile the palate is lighter-bodied and creamy, with succulent citrus flavours, a nice line of flinty acidity, and a fresh, frisky finish. A nice chilli and lime marinated chicken would be awesome with this!
