Brokenwood Harlequin Chardonnay 2008 |

|
A superb colour - bright yellow/green, even after oak aging. The aromas are in the citrus/tropical spectrum. A young wine, so plenty of primary fruit. The oak sits in the background and adds a char/smoky element.
Simply stunning fruit with perfect weight length and acidity this wine transcends all your previous thoughts on Chardonnay and will take you to new heights of enjoyment.
Aromatics rely heavily on great fruit, with figs, some caramel and peach all upfront. The first sip gives you an immediate level of interest with nice weight in the mouth, not to hot or spicy but the length seems to linger longer and the medium dryness and acidty go hand in hand on a level playing field.
Not too heavy and way beyond light so I think they have the balance just right!
Winery Notes: Showing vibrant yellow/green colours this fresh young Chardonnay exhibits a melange of tropical and stone fruit
characters on the nose.
A medium bodied easy drinking style it finishes with hints
of citrus.
