In a recent staff tasting the wines of Happy Roo were generally agreed to be of great quality and exceptional value for money. They represent all and more of what can be expected coming from premium South Australian wine regions. The 2008 Chardonnay was one that immediately grabbed our attention. The nose displays everything from peach and melon to citrus fruits and lovely toasty notes coming from time spent in oak. The oak is evident on the palate too without being overpowering, it allows the melon and peach fruit to shine through. The wine has good length and lovely creamy finish. Enjoy this wine now or over the next 12 months. Colour: Pale straw with green tinges Bouquet: Stone fruit and pineapple complemented by subtle citrus notes Palate: Ripe pineapple and melon characters dominate. A well-rounded wine with a generous mid-palate and a soft clean finish. Food Match: Roasted chicken and grilled fish
