“Quality is the keyword for this classy Central Victorian Chardonnay. The nutty nougat overtones and citrus notes merge beautifully and the oak is perfectly integrated” - TF.
A complex bouquet offers nectarine fruit and positive and balanced barrel ferment inputs; the palate is very lively and focused, with delicious nectarine and grapefruit flavours.
Central Victorian has continually produced Chardonnay wines of amazingly high standards. The 2013 Professor Chardonnay is a wine that displays classic Chardonnay flavours, with the unique feature of bottle age complexities. In the glass, the appearance is a bright pale golden appearance. The nose is inviting with a highly complex aromatic spectrum, depicting a combination of fresh bread/toast, hints of brioche, honey & nougat. The palate is brilliantly complex…… balance & finesse. Instantly, you should be struck by the honeydew/stone fruit flavours. This is followed by the honey & toast characters that give the wine length & balance.
Staff Tasting: A nice toasty aroma encouraged by stone fruits, especially Apricot. On the palate melon comes into the equation, heralding those stone fruits into a delectable chorus of fruity goodness, with enough buttery, smooth tannin effect to render the whole thing smooth, refreshing and perfect for drinking with potato salads and couscous.
