From The Winery
Hand-picked on April 3rd, the fruit was selected from vines grown on deep soils without irrigation, from Rows 1-27 of our DMH vineyard at Mansfield, 500 metres above sea level.
The ripe fruit had the archetypal lychee and tea-rose characters, which when fermented out also showed tones of musk and orange zest. The fine texture and fresh acidity, combined with its vibrant flavours, will contribute to the continued development of this wine in the bottle. Cellar for up to 10 years

"A beautiful white wine. It seduces by balance, texture, flavour and length, though in the end it enchants by its own design. Chalk, crisp apple, lychee, rosewater and spice. It's distinct, it's defined, it has edge and yet it flows. Snap, crackle and glycerol pop. Absolutely a wine to covet." 96 Points. James Halliday - The Wine Companion
"It was announced recently that the famous cool climate Victorian winery Delatite had been sold to the Vestey family group. Ros Ritchie was of course the Delatite winemaker for a good long time, and this gewurztraminer is grown on the Dead Man’s Hill vineyard. It’s not overly exuberant but it’s highly textural. I have a feeling it will be at its best in another few year’s time. It tastes of roses, spice, Turkish delight, and crunchy green apples. It’s a touch muted and reserved at present, but I don’t take that as a bad thing. Indeed as a positive. Real tongue-hugging aspect to the finish. A serious white.
