A lovely straw green in colour with aromas of crisp pear, lychee and a touch of ginger. 6 week fermenting of 20% of the fruit in French oak provides a creaminess on the palate, with nashi pear and nutty flavours leading into a balanced, zesty finish.
The past few vintages have received very strong reviews and this year's is no different. A versatile wine that will pair well with most cuisine, or is just as good on its own. Don't miss out at this price!
Awards and Accolades
2016 Vintage: 94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed, part fermented in tank, part in used French oak. As in previous years, a superior pinot gris, with a wealth of flavours spanning pear all the way to citrus, thus providing above average length."
2014 Vintage: 92 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front "Adelaide Hills pinot gris. Excellent value. Sees some wild yeast (20%) and time in French oak. It’s fruit-filled but soft in the mouth. More complex than you might expect of a young pinot gris too. If I could click “like” on the glass, I would. Lemon, lime, nashi pear and spice flavours. Well above average quality. "
