Bursting with aromatics of citrus zest, lemon and hints of dragon fruits. Delicate flavours of honey, caraway and rye are perfectly balanced with the steel minerality that give it its light texture. Perfect chilled as an apertif, or with fresh raw fish, seafood or even dumplings
From The Winery
Our Enchanted Garden was planted in 1910 and thrives to this day, a 7 acre Eden Valley Vine Garden lovingly tended by Sue and Stuart Woodman. Whole bunches were hand picked in March then de-stemmed without crushing the fruit to fill our press exactly.
Juice from the free run and pressings were seperated then fermented in small tanks between 11 and 13 degrees Celcius. The wine has a high level of natural acidity, 7.6 grams per litre, a pH of 2.93 and although bone dry, only 11.0% alcohol.
This 2016 Enchanted Garden of the Eden Valley Riesling was bottled directly with minimal fining and filtration to capture the essence of the vineyard, a looking glass if you will, and is ready to drink immediately or cellar for decades. Thank you Mr & Mrs Woodman.
Colour Star bright in colour the appearance of this Riesling foretells the pristine and unalloyed quality of its fruit.
Nose With classic Riesling aromatics of citrus zest, lemon foliage and hints of dragon fruit flowers, etched by a clear steely minerality this wine holds the promise of a future, well-cellared bouquet of honey, caraway and rye.
Palate With a palate weight that is all fresh rain water, this is an attractively textural Riesling displaying the variety’s intense purity. Bone dry, its structure and length is underpinned by austere acidity.
Drink Either immediately as an aperitif, or with almost any white meat dish. Perfect with dumpling.

SILVER - Sommelier Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition
"Hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed, cool-fermented, bottled without filtration or fining. Reflects 7.8g/l of acid and a very low pH of 2.8. This packs a punch that will always be part of a special riesling, bred and built to develop over a 20-year span, its minerally acidity wrapped around citrus fruit" 95 Points, James Halliday - The Wine Companion
