Cape Horn Marsanne 2006
Cape Horn Marsanne 2003.jpg

Located on the banks of the Murray River we're just 15 min by car from Echuca, 30 min by speed boat and 4-5 hours by house boat.

The Vineyard was first planted to Shiraz grapes in the 1860's serving the thriving River Boat trade. Being half way between Echuca and Barmah, Cape Horn was a convenient stopping spot for the river boats. The Vineyard and Winery evolved as a consequence. Cape Horn was also a popular picnic spot for day trippers from Echuca in the 1900's.

Alexander Park Verdelho 2004

WAS $19.00
Rich tinned apricots with a viscous palate. The acid finish is well balanced with the fruit. A slight creamy texture through the middle palate finishes with a balanced firm acid. A touch of age has benefited this wine to produce some developed characters of ripe nectarines and some increased weight on the palate which combine to amplify its capacity to work well with stronger food dishes such as chinken and noodles and perhaps the odd seafood curry laksa!
