Ashwood Grove Soft Press Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 |

|
A really nicely made elegant wine from one of the Big Boys for the export market and meant to really excite the European drinker into a frenzy at this price for this amazing quality.
The Soft Press winemaking approach ensures the wine is softly textured and naturally balanced offering exceptional fruit flavours across a generous yet complex palate.
The result is a deep red colour wine displaying voluptuous cherry and raspberry flavours entwined with some bell pepper and a slight tobacco characters from the oak. The palate is full bodied with a firm tannin backbone producing excellent flavour structure and length.
Grapes from premium growing regions in South Australia were identified for showing excellent varietal definition and flavour concentration. Harvesting took place at night to retail the fresh fruit characters. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were pressed in the soft press style and only the free run juice was used to ensure a softly textured, approachable wine was achieved with no harsh phenolics. Following fermentation the wine received maturation in oak for a period of 5 months to further develop the soft rich characters associated with our soft press range.
