A vibrant and youthful wine full of flavours of dark fruits and a spice earth finish. This wine would be excellent with mushrrom risottos, slow roasted lamb or ox cheek.
From The Winery
Located on the southern end of South Australia in the heart of Mount Benson, Norfolk Rise Vineyard is best known for its rugged coastline and sandy beaches that allow for the provision of fresh seafood. It is planted on 180 hectares of terra rossa soils spread out on the coastal hills in the region.
With an alcohol content of 14%, Norfolk Rise Estate Pinot Noir presents a vibrant crimson hue. Blissful fragrances of cherry, rhubarb, fennel, cola and honey flow from the elegant bouquet. The palate is light-weighted and youthful, filled with fresh flavours of dark fruits, mushrooms and spicy hints leading to an earthy finish. With a cellaring potential till the year 2020, this wine is a great food accompaniment to mushroom risottos, Middle Eastern cuisine and lamb ragu pastas.
Reviews
2016 Vintage: 89 Points - James Halliday, The Wine Companion "Estate-grown, small batch fermented, and 9 months in French barriques. Vivid crimson-purple; a very powerful pinot that has deep plum and black cherry fruit, but needs at least 2 years to give of its best. Great value."
