From The Winery

Our Over the Shoulder wines are great examples of wines that typify varietal characteristics of the Yarra Valley. Wines which are fresh, vibrant and medium bodied. Low alcohol wines with intensity, marvelous tightness and sharp focus.

This Pinot Noir was mostly sourced from vineyards in Gladysdale, Woori Yallock and Coldstream using handpicked grapes and crafted using traditional methods.

Fruit destemmed to open whole berry (90%) and whole bunch (10%) fermentations of 14-22 days duration. Ferments where allowed to proceed naturally and without temperature control, allowing peak temperatures to reach 32°C. Once finished, ferments where pressed to a mixture of barriques, hogsheads and puncheons for malolactic conversion and maturation on lees for 10 months prior to blending and bottling with a single filtration.

Deep dark cherry-red with dark red hues. Bright, spicy cherry fruit, blood plum, cinnamon, pomegranate and hints of raspberry and musk. Depth and weight apparent. Ripe yet crunchy fruit – black fruited with a weaving of lighter, red fruit
detail; alpine strawberry, preserved cherry and cranberry that add a nice fruit-acidity. This in turn add a sense of line and length.
