I have established The Scholars series of wines to reflect the best regional wines I can get my hands on, delivering to you beautifully made wines, showing intense regional and varietal terroir that will satisfy the most single minded scrutiny, for top class quality and value. Look out for these wines as they will blow your socks off!
This single vineyard Estate Shiraz typically shows a deep red colour and has vibrant berry fruit aromas and subtle use of oak. The wine is made in a concentrated, yet elegant, medium bodied style with a velvety texture and fine lingering tannins. While approachable in its youth the The Pupil estate Shiraz can be cellared over the medium to long term. Rich blackberry fruits, licorice and splashes of red fruits and allied spices; fine tannins, long finish
The fruit used to make this wine comes from an exceptional Estate vineyard at Bendigo where the first Shiraz vines were planted in 1969.
Traditional open fermenters as well as closed stainless steel fermentation tanks were used to ensure a full extraction of colour and tannins. The wine was then pressed to a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak where it was aged for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.
I trust you will enjoy and recommend to your best Friends only!
