So, if its is supremely confident, ripe, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon that you want heralding the best regional terroir and cool maritime climates , I really think you can stop here for a bit!
Once again these guys under the stewardship or Bob Cartwright have produced a stonking wine.
Immediately captivating to the eye, dark bulls blood red and bursting with a bright clear colour that says "Drink me!"
Bold almost unctuous flavour abounds in the first sip, explosively loaded with delicious blackcurrant and cassis, some yummy dark chocolate and all wrapped together with premium Oak. Perfect hints of leafy Cabernet fruit are a simple backdrop and add value to the heady upfront fruit depth. Layers of swirling ripe fruit make you keep reassessing this wine and it will come as no surprise, that this is a keeper and wil grow into an even better example with some time in the dark! (If you can wait)
This is a dry wine , that clearly demonstrates the power of this region and it is a pleasure to grab with confidence at any time from the cellar for your best friends!
A generous wine; cassis and blackcurrant flavours run through the supple medium-bodied palate; tannins fine, good oak. Screwcap. 13.5% alc. Rating 94 Drink 2020 $25.95 Date Tasted Jul 09 James Halliday WC 2010
