Small batch wines, lovingly produced provide a little ripper of a BARGAIN here, so hurry and get yours. Here is a a great value
wine aromaticaly full of peach and melon fruit. Showing the influence of gentle barrel ferment: fragrant and complex. The full bodied palate shows evident lees characters and a bright well balanced finish. The grapes are harvested exclusively from the Clos Robert vineyard which was established in 1972. The grapes are crushed and basket pressed. The juice is immediately chilled and cold settled for 2-3 days before being transferred to French Oak barrels for fermentation in a temperature controlled cool room. Regular hand stirring ensures lees character and complexity. All in all, a very great drink at a rediculous price.

Here we go with another sensational deal for all Chardonnay lovers . The wine shows complexity and balance, with integrated characters of oak and peach which combine beautifully with a fresh backbone of acid. All the cellaring has been done and although with the big peachy fruit available this wine will still cellar it really drinks like the STAR wine you may pay $30 for.

40% of the wine was fermented and aged in premium French oak barrels where lees stirring and malolactic fermentation also took place. The remainder was fermented and stored in stainless steel tanks to retain its intense fruit flavours and natural crispness.

Nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, the cool climate of the Yarra Valley is renowned for producing elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with vibrant fruit characters, length and structure. These refined, distinctive wines are an excellent example of the region and with their seductive, rich fruit are designed to be consumed in their youth.

Excellent colour shines from this little star package of a wine. A vibrant yellow/green colour to greet the eye with white peach and pear Chardonnay aromas, simply,delicious tropical characters of mango and peach abound, with a balanced acid finish. There are softer, cashew edges but this wine has definitely not seen any oak.

Bronze Medal at Royal Melbourne Wine Show 2006!
This was the absolute standout at our massive warehouse tasting last weekend so there are limited stocks available. It's easy to see why. Simply smelling this wine makes me conscious of all the great qualities of premium cool climate chardonnay fruit balanced with new American oak to combine in producing a sophisticated texturally flavour-filled wine with an abundance of ripe peach, deep suntanned apricots and some luscious lengthy and moorish mouth feel. Beautifully structured Chardonnays are not always easy to find but this is smashing and I heartily recommend it to you as a great food and social wine that you should snap regardless of your New Zealand Savvy drinking mates preferences.

The aroma is a combination of stone fruits, lime and nuts. The palate blends bright acid, vibrant fruit, peach and pear flavours with integrated oak. It is retaining its freshness while building complexity.

This wine was made under contract by award winning winemaker Mike Brown (Gemtree Vineyards) at Fleurieu Vintners in the Adelaide Hills. It has delicate straw colour and fragrant, lifted aroma of fresh melon, ripe nectarine and peach with background hints of citrus ester. The medium bodied mouth-feel has a creamy, nutty smoothness on the palate but the dominant characteristic is its fresh, lively, easy drinking flavour and refreshing crispness with a long, dry finish. This wine settled in refrigerated tanks for 12 months before bottling in June 2007. Ideal drinking over the next 4 years, try it with your choice of leafy salad dishes, poached seafood, lightly grilled chicken or smoked ham, brie and crusty bread.The rising dunes running through Padthaway provides deep well drained sandy soils over a limestone base. This combined with a cool growing season, long sunshine hours and accessible water produce excellent conditions for elegant, lively Chardonnay. He has kept this wine simple with no oak or winemaking complexity, just a natural expression of the region. I have to admit to loving full strength larger alcohol Unwooded chardonnays that have a captivating rich melon and creamy palate with summer ripe peachy mouthfeel and are driven by a lip smacking quality that keeps you looking for more of the pleasant fresh fruit and persistent flavours. Great length,here after 4 years and I would say reaching close to its best for drinking and perfect with grilled Fish, Thai or aromatic foods such as grilled sword fish and rocket salad.

Nice to see this wine drinking so resolutely with some age and grace. Salute!

The palate displays generous peach

Vintage 2006 in the Yarra Valley was one of the earliest on record, commencing in
early February, some 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule. This was due to a warm Spring
followed by unusually high summer temperatures in December before settling into
milder weather during February and March. The excellent growing season led to even
flowering and fruit set in all varieties. Crop levels were low to moderate producing fruit
with outstanding flavor and intensity.
Winemaking Information
The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Yarra Valley wine region. Approximately
25% of the material was transferred into 1 year old French and American oak. When
fermentation in oak was complete, the wine was blended back with the remainder
fermented in stainless steel tank, where it was fined, stabilized and filtered ready for
bottling.

These guys know how to make Chardonnay Zing all the way through the palate every time and just seem to never have a dud vintage! Pale straw colouring, a zesty lemon and grapefruit aroma with lifted floral notes, underpinned by struck flint and ground almonds nose and a palate full of white peach, fresh figs and pear flavours which are supported by a textured, mealy palate, subtle oak with the fruit to produce savoury complexity, the finish is long and clean with great intensity and vibrant, minerally acidity all combine to make this chardonnay one of the best to come out of the Maragret River region.

All right, I admit to loving big multi layered , in your face Oaky Chardonnay that really represents the traditions of the great white burgundies.
The guys hand selection of fruit and natural wild primary and secondary (malo-lactic) fermentations being carried out in the barrels of French artisan coopers. They take particular care with the choice of oak, using only the highest quality, but in limited amounts, so that it compliments, rather than overpowers the fruit.
Lip smacking , powerful and intensely full bodied I recommend you buy it, store it & drink it.

The nose of the 2006 Chardonnay is showing a combination of peach and melon fruits with a hint of citrus, This carries through to the tight minerally but well balanced finish. The oak treatment is obvious but subtle ensuing the wine has a soft lingering mouthfeel. Cellaring potential 10 years plus. Aromas of peach and oatmeal, hints of green fruits, ripe pear and honeyed lemon, quite complex really, and very , very alluring. I love being able to swirl a glass of wine and find all sorts of smells, ever changing. The palate is ripe, with lemon and oatmeal, texturally quite chewy, with soft lemony acids and sour musky fruits on the finish. A nicely balanced and elegant wine.

Rose 2007 - A vibrant fuchsia pink colour with a lightly perfumed nose of crushed strawberries and raspberries and just a hint of musk which follows through onto the fresh and lively palate. Verdelho 2006 - On the nose are aromas of tropical pineapple, passionfruit and ripe melon – a veritable fruit salad. The palate is equally reminiscent of a range of tropical fruits with a zesty, sherbet-like acidity and a clean citrus finish. Unoaked, the wine is crisp and refreshing and perfect for lunches and sprightly dinners where good wine is a must with friends and wonderful cooking.
