The Angas Brut Non Vintage Cuvée is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. Very pale straw in colour, the lifted 'strawberry and cream' and biscuit characters of Pinot Noir contribute to the palate richness. This is counter-balanced by the 'citrus' Chardonnay fruit structure and fine acidity of the wine. Boottle fermentation and ageing on yeast lees gives this wine complexity and some lovely nutty flavours.

Very good value every day bubbles with enticing fine beaded bubbles lazily finding their way to the surface. It is very important to over produce on quality and the team at Zilzie have done this in spades with this sparkling although you have to appreciate it is expensive to to do. So I can recommend this sparkling wine as the perfect compliment for all those special occasions when you need to be uplifted in a way which is delicate, fulfilling and most importantly enjoyable!

This current release is a light straw colour with some youthful green tinges showing. The nose is lifted with aromas of freshly crushed grapes, musk and melon characters. In the mouth the wine is alive with a vibrant and mouth filling sherbet flavour. A wine of universal appeal, the retained carbon dioxide gives a frizzante effect – the result a lively and fresh wine in the mouth. Serve well chilled and enjoy while young and fresh.

15 medals!!! fantastic, sexy, medium to full bodied traditional Shiraz with distinct, rich plum and pepper characters. Good this is refreshigly good! Parcels of the ripe fruit flavours are complexed by oak tannins, as a result of maturation in oak hogsheads for up to fifteen months, leaving a smooth, lasting finish. I have searched high and low for a better wine in its price point , but this is it folks! Christmas Turkey Watch Out.

I simply have to defer to my learned friends here and agree with their review that this wine has a beautiful, intense nose: what a communication of the variety (shiraz). There is a prickle of pepper amongst fine, some sweet liquorice spices, drawn over a canvas of textured, ripe, macerated small dark berries.

The complexity is awesome and the wine's poise superb. The mouth rushes with an amalgam of velvety richness, lashings of layered flavour carried on the fizz, a suggestion of earthiness here, and smudge of ripe tannin there. Seductive, structured, long Boudoir wine.

Delightful pale gold in colour with fine and persistent bubbles. Just the sort of bead that heralds a wonderful experience to come. Not too excited , just the right amount of persistence. Aroma is both delicate and fresh, with good complexity and notes of citrus and with fruit. Fresh and supple upon entry with rounded and expressive flavours from which the fruit progressively emerges. Good balance and length.
 
Probably better suited tanh some french as not as bold in the yeast department and therefore suits some palates which find that style a bit too much for celebrating life's better days!

First, Yellow Label looks beautiful: golden-yellow, with a foaming necklace of tine bubbles. Next it is so pleasing to the nose: initially reminiscent of white fruits and raisins, then of vanilla and later of brioche. Note the fine balance between the fruity aromas coming from th grape varieties and the toasty aromas following the ageing in the bottle. The first sip delivers all the freshness and forcefulness so typical of Yellow Label with a symphony of fruit tastes following on. Here is a true member of the
powerful Brut family, well structured, admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo and re-echo, with each fruit or spice note distinct.

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label manages to reconcile two opposing factors - forcefulness and finesse - and to hold them in perfect balance. This consistent power to please makes it ideal as an aperitif, and perfect as the Champagne to enjoy
with a meal.

Reminds me of the 1920's when everything was frightfuly daring and all the darlings were trying the Pink!
With an emphasis on pinot noir, this wine is fruity, daring, spontaneous, and seductive in character. A tender structure on the midpalate is followed by a fresh and supple finish. Looking for a special sparkling wine to celebrate in the early afternoons or specifically a beautiful combo with Asian dishes , chilli and spice this will do rather nicely thanks Jeeve's!

Whether or not you particularly like the unmistakeable Bollinger style, you have to respect it. Pinot noir (60 per cent) and pinot meunier (15 per cent) drive the wine, augmented by fermentation in old oak barrels. The result is a complex spicy, bready, toasty, baked apple bouquet, the palate complete and round, with an unexpected touch of delicacy, and a pleasing, dry finish. This wine has a brilliant, attractive golden-yellow colour. It emanates fruity aromas (peaches,pears, apricots) and very biscuity notes (brioche, honey, almonds, hazelnuts). After a few minutes, the bouquet develops, leading to hints of sweet spices and with the fruity notes
taking on a more candied flavour.
In the mouth, the wine is flavoursome and full. The Pinot Noir grapes, the majority variety in this wine, provide strength and structure, while the finish, where the Chardonnay plays its role perfectly, remains fresh and clean. In good conditions, the Vintage 2002 can be kept for 10 to 15 years, during which time it will develop complexity and aromatic richness.

A beautiful , calming Salmon-pink in colour. There are aromas which are precise and very crisp with a lasting impression of freshness, it has hints of soft red fruits, such as strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and black cherries.

Intense fruity flavours begin clean and well-defined upon entry, the wine then opens up to provide a melange of flavours consisting of fresh strawberries, raspberries and wild cherries. It has great length and is rounded and supple on the finish.

$110 a bottle for a current release Australian sparkling wine might seem implausible, if not outrageous. But if you want to find out just how close the wine in question comes to the style of Bollinger, the price takes on a different make-up. The LD Hanging Rock Cuvée Six (96 points) spent almost nine years on lees before disgorging in September this year. Its excellent fine mousse attests to its very long lees contact, as does its immaculate balance, despite its low dosage of only 2g per litre of sugar.

The complex bready/biscuity characters of the palate are reminiscent of Bollinger, and very good acidity stretches out the long, lingering finish.

La Grande Dame 1998 has a pale gold colour with jade glints. The wine is crystal clear, with unbelievably fine bubbles.

On the first nose, typical Chardonnay characteristics come to the fore, with the arrival of floral and mineral aromas (acacia, ferns, chalk). By agitating the wine, scents of candied fruit (citrus fruits, apricots, quince) and sweet almond emerge, to reappear later in the mouth. After rotating the wine for a few minutes more, rare notes such as peaty malt, tobacco and delicate herbs, are gradually unveiled.
