Levin wines experienced a superior vintage in 2005 and implementing new techniques such as organic management of the vineyards (biodynamic from 2006), yield restriction, leaf plucking, hand harvesting and picking in 3 tranches all played a significant role in fantastic wine. The above methods resulted in beautiful, concentrated and healthy grapes, the bouquet displays a multi-layered array of pure citrus fruits of lemon and pink grapefruit entwined with subtle hints of pineapple, passion fruit and blackberry bud. A teasing herbaceous lift envelops with jasmine tea and cut fennel which is enhanced by the terroir driven flinty minerality. On the palate the wine continues with mouthwatering acidity and a creamy mid-palate texture which persists to a balanced lingering fruity finish. Slightly richer and more generous on the palate, The 2005 Sauvignon Blanc has a silky fresh fruit, floral and spice expression derived from grapes grown in Levin’s Oisly and Bourré Vineyards. Crafted from hand-harvested grapes selected exclusively from their own vineyards creates a myriad of flavours. |

| Well here we are with a ripper of a multi award winning wine in both Australia and NZ taking out Double Medals and the all important Blue Gold! I have sourced this wine in such large quantities that the price is below $11- flat out around Australia and will sell like Hot Cakes. This is the fabulous 2007 vintage and it is a ripper! Hurry before this container runs dry! A prima Donna of Sauvignon Blanc all grassy and decidedly elegant Sauvignon Blanc style with the expected aromatic up front notes of fresh New Zealand Savvy. Fresh, dry, crisp nose with some mild, floral aromatics and a touch of citrus. Lovely mouthfeel here with impact and length is fine and generous, with intense fruit flavours. Mid palate has good weight and a lovely passage of delicate finished weight both crisply citric and singularly fine. Very classy wine, and a delight to offer. |

***** Medal Winner *****
This wine has those grassy, subtle, herbaceous flavours of Semillon with the spicy, mineral, asparagus & herb characters of cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc. Western Australia seems to thrive on getting this blend right nearly all the time to produce a refreshing, easy drinking wine with a lingering palate. Perfect for the summer months as a starter with food or sessionable all day at races. |

Absolutely sensational! 90% Sauvignon Blanc & 10% Semillon. Let me start there and really get excited. Adelaide Hills 2008 whites missed the heatwave and in particular this Sauvignon Blanc fruit (sourced directly next door from material that goes into Shaw & Smith Savvy) is awsome in every way. Clear bright and very tempting with a slight hue of pale-gold envy illuminates the bottle. Gently squeeze the top around and wait for the sigh of perfection as the world meets the contents. Aromatics from this vintage are extraordianry and intense. The wonderful expressive qualities of Adelaide Hills Savvy is the extension of flavours you get that extend its reach and mouth feel to include a melange of ripe mago's, Asparagus, good acid structure, confectionary, white chocolate and an array of tropical fruit profiles as well. A Thinking womens Sav Blanc I think! In all respects, what a boomer to have in the fridge for the next 12 months as it will lead you to cook for it, not just drink it. Sessionable, sensible, loveable and very bright indeed. Enjoy! |

Well it takes more than just marketing spin to develop magnificent blended wines that have appeal and repurchase likeability from the consumer and this premium range from Hungerford Hill is all of that and more. The complex nose displays citrus aromas of Semillon with herbacious characters, stonefruit and melon of Sauvignon Blanc. The zesty citrus flavours and racy acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc are rounded out nicely by rich Semillon fruit flavours. A lower 12.5 % Alc is perfect for this racey little number and makes for a modern new world Sauvigon Blanc dominant style with freshness & soft crisp flavours. |

| The Mount Trio aim is to ‘produce wines of good flavour and style’, which has certainly been achieved with this Great Southern wine. It is, according to Peter, not dissimilar to a Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc, as it is very intense and varietal with a pleasing mouth-feel and midpalate featuring powerful greens. Asparagus and gooseberry were two strong characters you expext and enjoy in this varietal. |

Made from premium fruit specially selected from a single vineyard on The Peninsula the wine shows ripe tropical and citrus fruit aromas with a gentle savoury edge. Judicous use of French oak has created a soft , smooth texture and the palate is bursting with ripe passionfruit flavour. The hand picked grapes, harvested early in the morning, were taken to the winery and gently crushed and pressed into refrigerated tanks. After settling and racking the juice is fermented using specific yeasts to promote the flavour and complexity. The mouthfeel and complexity of the wine were enhanced by a short time in barrel before being bottled in Premium deep punted clear ‘Arctic’ glass bottles. |

LuLu Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc demonstrates the perfect harmony with this variety and the terroir of the Adelaide Hills, displaying fresh, Sauvignon characters and crisp acidity.
2007 vintage saw yields lower than normal in the Adelaide Hills due to the drought that was felt across South Australia. The grapes were picked in perfect condition in early March. After fermentation, the wine naturally settled then was cold-filtered and bottled. 2007 LuLu Sauvignon Blanc shows classic vibrancy and flavours. The acidity is perfectly harnessed to create a very clean and seriously refreshing style. |

Top 100 & Blue Gold SIWC, Top In Class Royal Hobart, Gold at Royal Easter Wine Awards, they go on and on! My Favourite Seafodd TV Chef is listing this in the UK and I think that is a great thing. As you would expect, delightful Pale straw. colour with a nose of lifted aromas of racy crushed herbs, currants, nettles, lime and minerals with underlying guava and passion fruit all of which are the hallmarks of the region. A dry crisp wine with typical Marlborough flavours of guava, currants, minerals, lime and passion fruit. Rich in mouth feel, the mouth-watering acidity leads to a long lingering finish. 01 February 2008- Geoff Kelly The top Mud House Wines sauvignon Lemon green to lemon, the richest colour of the Mud House sauvignons. Bouquet is superbly classical Marlborough sauvignon, white nectarine, red capsicum and black passionfruit with complexing notes of sweet basil and other aromatic herbs, honeysuckle florals, plus faint musky armpit notes at an acceptable level, all very attractive indeed. On palate there is a richness and satisfaction of flavour which makes one wonder, in the blind tasting, is there trace barrel-ferment / new oak there too. When subtle, it is impossible to tell, given the phenolics of ripe sauvignon. Flavour is long in mouth, tasting all free-run, and low in phenolics. Residual sugar is the usual ‘dry’ level for the variety. This is model modern Marlborough sauvignon, to cellar up to 10 years, if mature wines appeal. GK 02/08

Watch out for this wine as it is going to win major awards this year by my Judgement! I was fortunate enough to grab some of Geoff's time mid-May and discuss the rise and rise of Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc. Cooler climate Adelaide hills produces awe inspiring Sauvignon Blanc that has to be tasted to be believed, and this little beauty is no exception. Here we have a Savvy that develops in the mouth while a touch of blending goes a long way to achieving the multilayered complexity of great wine making! The wine has a colour which is a brilliant white-gold with a hint of green. The nose has encompassing tropical aromatics of guava, ripe mango, blood orange and lemon zest. Underneath are smooth components of melted white chocolate, stewed peach and a delicate touch of asparagus. A clean and well-structured palate keeps the tropical flavours with a bright acid and dry finish. The K1 Sauvignon Blanc vines are over twenty years old and are producing consistently exceptional wines. The vines are trained to wide vertically spaced double cordons and spur pruned to increase fruit quality. A very small addition of low yielding Arneis and Verdelho has enhanced this wine’s palate texture whilst intensifying fruit flavour and aroma. This wine is perfect as an aperitif as well as being ideally suited to match with seafood dishes (particularly crustaceans) and contrasts well with rich cream based sauces. Pale straw in colour, with brilliant clarity, this wine has a wonderful bouquet of gooseberries, citrus blossom, mint and lemon-grass with a subtle toasty background. | The Hill Smith Estate vineyard always manages to grow dense, healthy canopies, which are perfect for shading the grapes during summer, resulting in intense varietal characters and high natural acidity. The grapes are picked overnight in the cool, crushed and de-juiced quickly and then clarified. Aromatic yeast strains are chosen and cool fermentations result in lifted fruit aroma and flavour. 5% of the wine was fermented and matured in fine grained new French oak Barriques. This had added a subtle flavour, texture and complexity to the wine. On the nose the wine displays subtle characters of dry, cut grass and bound hay, with a hint of fragrant spices and nettle leaf but it’s also fruity with lemon and gooseberry notes. On the palate it’s smoky, gravelly, highly textural and rich with grassiness and lemony acidity, with an even flow of mouth-watering flavours through the finish. |

| More often asked for now as the Icon purchase from the Marlborough region in New Zealand and shows that rich tapestry of racy flavours & mouth-watering aromas of passionfruit, pineapple and lemongrass led with the spiciness of just-picked nestley, tomatoes. Many small parcels of fruit, ripened under ideal conditions, bring layers of complexity to the 2008 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. The palate has exceptional richness, with ripe gooseberry flavours and a hint of fresh olives leading to a powerful, crisp dry finish. There will be loads of stunning value from this large 2008 vintage but as a special gift , or dinner party starter with a bang if you bag a bottle or two of this , you will get some pretty special attention! |

Don't be bashful with the latest win from the Casino. This is the opportunity to expand your horizons and enjoy a treat of wine making Genius! No this won't turn your toes up but it will curl them under with delight. Sensory Kinipchens start the process for this BIG , Interesting and very dominant Sauvignon that has been transformed with extended time on lees, barrel fermentation combining to make a new category in savvy drinkers. This is a bold style with a generous depth of tropical stone fruit back bone and incorporates punches of dynamic piquancy from aromatic vegetative basics from the garden to have almost restorative qualities.
"In recent years, Cloudy Bay Te Koko has emerged as a sort of alter ego to the standard wine. Light years away from the conventional idea of Marlborough Sauvignon, it's a super-complex wine that won't be to everybody's taste. Nutty lees and barrel influence is there, too, a hint of almost botrytis-like candy and honeycomb, leading to a very long, dry finish!"-Ralph Kyte-Powell |
