GMH Vineyard Series - Shiraz 2005
What do you get when Geoff Hardy lets RIP!!! No riddle, just a brilliant shiraz from Australia's hottest wine grower!

Geoff Hardy's has a reputation as a viticulturalist & winemaker has grown exponentially since his days as a young lad. He has developed and refined a big 'joosy' style & combining skills with the McLaren Vale master ...."The Boys are back In town!" A consultant wine grower to the stars, this red he is very pleased to offer you.

The warm 2005 summer ensured rich, ripe berry aromas in Shiraz from Langhorne Creek. This wine ladels a big serving of generous flavour that such a year provides, with the impression of ripe raspberries and spicy wild berries on the palate. Judicious wood treatment enhances the flavour to ensure enjoyment and a wonderful whack of tannins mean delightful integration of fruit and aging still to come.I am still loving this wine as an 'open tonight and revisit tomorrow' with a spring in my step and a smile on my face.

Cellar up to 10 years

Boasting superb purity, length, and intensity, this vintage simply over-delivers & will gain momentum in years to come. Rate = 93/100

*****Decanter Magazine Top 50 Best value reds in the world *****

A dark, exciting looking wine with a cherry red hue. Initially dominated by roasted plum and cherry notes. Elements of spice, spearmint and smoke are quite elegant and refined which suggest a cooler year. As the wine opens up, there is strong emphasis on red fruits such as
Satsuma plums, cranberries, mulberry and cherries mixed with characters of carob and a savoury edge similar to cut flower stems. The palate is complex, layered and is very precise with a firm, mineral boundary that suppresses the fruit yet the finish is surprising soft and long and very red in flavour. The balance of the red fragrant fruits and dark berries with the oak seems more noticeable than in previous years. The length and intensity of flavour is a great attribute of this wine; the flavours continue to linger on and on.

Ben Riggs Does it agin.....Get in and get some of this quick smart! A rich red plum colour, 2005 Undercover Shiraz is yet another stand out vintage. This wine displays complex aromas of cloves, chocolate and dark berries. The 2005 Undercover is perhaps more classic and savoury in style, it has a rich palate with chocolate, spice and lingering juicy fruit flavours balanced by fine grained oak tannin with an ever pleasing persistent long finish.
