Galafrey Frankland River Shiraz 2001
Galafrey produces small parcels of distinctive and consistently excellent wines.

This is one of the most refined and stylish reds yet made by Ian Tyrer. Beautiful sweet red berry and slightly perfumed aromas. The palate is supple and succulent with quite delicious sweet fruit. Fine grained tannins and attractive integrated oak. Very promising"

There is a big nose choc a block full of dark cherry, spice and chockolate flavours here with sweet black cherry, spice and some nice intensity of pepper flavours. A stylish palate with silky tannins which are beautifully softened and a drink now finish. "Galafrey Frankland River Shiraz 2001 is a lovely wine. Delicious sweet ripe berry fruits on the palate combining with powerful dry tannins and understated but complimentary oak. Beautifully balanced! This is super value.’ Ray Jordan. The Western Australian. May 2005. “ Dark red-purple in colour. Black cherry, plum and some fleshy characters on the nose. Medium-ripe palate showing good fruit characters married to fine oak before nice long finish. A very nicely made shiraz showing the cooler spectrum characters. Medium term cellaring.”

Smashing New Vintage and label for us here at Wine Box and didn't this take us by surprise at the last tasting!

Not having seen this level of upfront classy winemaking to produce a stylish and intensely fruity Sauvignon Blanc.

Perfect served ice cold with grilled sea bass or crisp dressed salads, it's and exceptional example of fantastic South African value.
Like a blend of Loire Valley and Marlborough styles, the nose shows hints of grass, fresh herbs and tropical fruits, which follow through to a well balanced palate.
Cool fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicate flavours, this Sauvignon shows tropical fruit, citrus and herbs on the nose, crisp acidity and a clean lingering finish."
