I am always worried about the length of vintage with this grape in Australia as it requires good long concentrated seasons to produce its best, but no need to worry with this little beauty as It’s crammed choc a block with Sangiovese’s trademark cherry flavours and mature cherry pip dryness. Best bet though is after the first sip when you recognise there’s more depth and goodness underneath, with a traditional earthy, mushroom, forest floor complexity.

A far more substantial Sangiovese than most which firms it up this year as an absolute favourite of mine. Chin Chin!

The estate wine from Mount Langi Ghiran is grown from select Sangiovese vines sourced from Tuscany. Terrific ripe fruit and great continuity. A mouth filling berry fruits palate, with subtle complexity, grainy tannins and lingering earthiness.
