A big crimson Heathcote Shiraz, absolutely perfect for the onset of BBQ season, which promises blue skies, plenty of smokey meats and enough sunlight to carry dinner through till the late hours of the evening.
Home to some of the country's biggest and baddest Shiraz, Heathcote is the go-to region for Shiraz lovers the world over. This Pupil Shiraz speaks with an almost perfect clarity of the best the region has to showcase, purring along with dramatic soulful notes of brambles, cracked pepper and star anise. There is a background of Chinese five spice, leather and some nice hints of toasty oak. The wine has been beautifully crafted and coats the length of the palate, building intensity and lush layers of perfection. Grab a couple of dozen as quickly as you can, as always there is not a lot available and it will soon be just a memory.
